Mandala Double Cozy Pattern: Beginner Friendly

Hey guys!! It has been awhile since I posted!! Naturally, I had to come back with a new pattern for you!! This one is the Mandala Double Cozy and it is similar to my bright vibes cozy! It works up super fast and makes a great Easter Basket stuffer.🌸🐰🌸

**** The super cute Unicorn Poop hook is from @idreamofyarn. She has an Instagram and an Etsy!💞

This pattern is made using one skein of lion brand size 3 Mandala. To make this pattern use the strand from the outside and the middle of the skein.

Abbreviations:

Ch- Chain

Sc- Single Crochet

Hdc- Half Double Crochet

St(s)- Stitch or Stitches

Gauge: 6 sts x 6 Rows = 2 inches

Materials:

5.5 mm hook

Lion Brand Mandala or comparable size 3 yarn

Scissors

Yarn needle

Pattern:

Row 1: Ch 28 with both strands of yarn

Row 2: Hdc in second Ch from hook and each St after. (27 Sts)

Row 3: Ch 1, turn work, Hdc down all Sts (27 Sts)

Repeat Row 3 until you reach 10 rows.

Row 11: Ch 1, turn work, Sc down all remaining Sts.

Cut off yarn and sew sides together with a yarn needle. I prefer to do this method with certain Sts because it creates a straight seam.

Bright Vibes Coffee Sleeve

Good Morning Everyone!! 🙋🏻 As promised I am posting the pattern to the bright vibes coffee sleeve today!! These sleeves are not only colorful fun, but they are also reusable!! They are an eco-friendly alternative to regular paper/cardboard coffee sleeves. These also have multiple uses as they fit travel mugs, to go cups, tumblers, bottles, and cans!!

I got the idea to combine two scrap skeins of red heart stripes and could not believe how pretty the outcome!! I used leftover polo stripe and flamenco stripe. This pattern involves the two strand method that I’ve used in previous patterns. This means you work with two separate skeins of yarn as if they were one. This involves a bigger hook size then the label states ( I used 8mm ). It makes for a chunky yarn appearance without the higher cost! The pattern is beginner friendly and if you need any assistance to create it please let me know!!

Materials:

*2 skeins of red heart stripes in different color ways (or any comparable yarn)

*Hook sized bigger than label states I used 8mm but use what feels comfortable

*scissors

*yarn needle

Abbreviations:

Ch-chain

Sc-single crochet

Sts- stitches

Gauge:

8 sts x 10 rows = 3 inches

Pattern:

To Start: ch 24, sc in second ch from hook

Row 1- sc in the remaining 22 chs (23 sts) ch 1 turn work

Row 2- 23 sc, ch 1 turn work (23 sts)

Repeat row 2 until you reach 12 rows.

Cut yarn and connect both sides of your work by sewing them together. You can make this pattern by connecting the foundation ch and forming a circle but I prefer to sew the sides as it creates a straight seam. Weave in your ends and voila you made a coffee sleeve!🤗

I hope you enjoy your new coffee sleeve and if you made any please share them on Instagram and tag me @loveinstitchesco !! A few of these tie dyed coffee sleeves are up on my Etsy if your interested in purchasing!! You may sell the items you make with this pattern but please give me credit as designer!! Most of all I hope you have a terrific Monday and spend time remembering the remarkable Martin Luther King.

Winter Dream Double Strands Ear Warmer

Happy Wednesday guys!!! I think we all can agree it is absolutely freezing outside. 😨 Well those of us who are not in a tropical climate anyways. I believe it was 3 degrees when I woke up this morning!! ❄️ Brrrr! The other night we had dinner with my neighbor, and she had expressed to me that her ears get so cold in this type of weather. So naturally, I had resolved to whipped up an ear warmer for her. I wanted to make a pattern that worked up fast but was still very warm. Thus, I decided to go with the two strands of yarn technique I’d seen others use. This is when you pick two separate skeins of yarn but work with them as if they were one.

This technique requires a bigger hook size to accomplish. I used an 8.0 mm hook for 2 skeins of worsted 4 red heart super saver. I used a teal and mint combo that is perfect for the winter months. The double strand approach creates a perfect chunky yarn look without breaking the bank. This pattern is also very basic with minimal stitches but still creates a breathtaking design that you’re sure to enjoy!

Materials:

*2 skeins of worsted 4 red heart yarn/ or any comparable yarn

*Hook size bigger than label states, I used 8.0 mm, but use what feels comfortable

*Scissors

*Yarn needle

Abbreviations:

ch-chain

sc-single crochet

hdc-half double crochet

sts-stitches

Gauge:

11 sts x 10 rows = 4 inches

To Start- ch 12, sc in second ch from hook

Row 1- 10 sc in remainder of ch, (11 sts) ch 1 turn work

Row 2- 11 hdc down the row (11 sts) ch 1 turn work

Row 3- 11 sc down the row (11 sts) ch 1 turn work

Repeat row 2 and 3 until you reach desired length, for a woman this is typically 20-22 inches

^Your work should start to look like this after a few rows. When complete cut yarn leaving enough length to weave the sides together. Then cut off and weave in ends. I’m here to help if you need it so, don’t hesitate to ask!🙋🏻 You may sell the ear warmer you make from this pattern but please credit me as the designer. Chevron Cake Cowl

Happy New Year!!!!!! Well guys I finally did it, I managed to make a blog! But let’s be real, hopefully my skills improve after this post! 🤣😉 I have been writing patterns recently and thought why not give up some freebies, so here I am! This is the start of a lot of big things for Love in Stitches Co so please stay tuned!🤗

Now to start this off, my wonderful Mom got me a gorgeous Caron sprinkle cake for Christmas and I instantly fell in love with this yarn! It’s so plush and warm, perfect for this cold weather most of us have been facing! This pattern is super basic. It is great for a beginner as it involves few stitches but still creates a lovely design! I tend to crochet a little on the tight side so I added a gauge to insure you get a great fitting Cowl! The half double crochet stitch or hdc makes a gorgeous classic chevron that looks way harder than it is.

Materials:

Caron Cake Sprinkles Yarn

8.0 mm Crochet Hook

Scissors

Yarn Needle

Gauge

9 sts x 9 rows = 4 inches

Abbreviations:

hdc- half double crochet

ch- chain

sts- stitches

Pattern:

To Start: ch 26, hdc in second ch from hook

Row 1: hdc in remaining 24 ch ( 25 sts ) ch 1 turn work

Row 2: 25 hdc in back loop only ( 25 sts ) ch 1 turn work

Row 3: 25 hdc in both loops ( 25 sts ) ch 1 turn work

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you reach the end of your skein with enough yarn to weave in ends. Weave in your ends and cut yarn.

After a few rows it should start to take on the chevron appearance with two straight lines encasing it.

It’s that easy! You may sell the cowls you make from this pattern but please credit me as the designer. I’m here to help if you need it so please don’t hesitate to ask! Please tag me on Instagram so I can see your finished cowls. @loveinstitchesco Thanks for Visiting!🙋🏻‍♀️
